About Ideal Concepts

Ideal Concepts is among the fastest growing and most technologically advanced insurance marketing organizations (IMOs) in the industry. With its focus on creating innovative sales technology solutions and unique insurance products, it is one of the leading producers of individual health, life, Medicare, and supplemental insurance in the United States.

The company is located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It has over 100 employees across all of its United States locations and more than 3,000 independent agents.

Ideal Concepts was founded in 2004 by its current president, John Pequeno.

Pequeno, who holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, wanted to use his technology expertise to revolutionize the insurance industry. What originally started as a simple online insurance marketing company soon became a top-rated national firm offering cutting-edge technology that effectively streamlines the insurance sales process from customer to agent and carrier.

In 2007, Pequeno launched American Insurance Organization (AIO), an insurance marketing organization that partners with insurance carriers and agents to facilitate the sales process.

Products Sold And Market Focus

Ideal Concepts partners with a number of top-rated insurance carriers such as Aetna, Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross, and Mutual of Omaha to provide a variety of health and life insurance policy options, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements, prescription drug plans, and a range of related ancillary products.

In 2012, Ideal Concepts launched SureMed, a service designed to market the benefits of the American Better Health Organization (ABHO) to consumers nationwide. This product was designed to bridge the gap in health insurance by providing benefits for uncovered expenses and services that are otherwise not offered by the health insurance products.

SureMed offers some of the most innovative services in the healthcare industry, including:

    • Doctors by Phone

    • Dental Discount Plan

    • Vision Discount Plan

    • Prescription Discount Plan

    • Medical Bill Saver™

    • Critical Illness Insurance, and

    • Accident Medical Expense and AD&D Insurance.

The SureMed program is provided at no cost to the American Better Health Organization members.

How Leads Work

Ideal Concepts has developed SalesRadix, an innovative sales platform that provides free, real time, internet-generated leads to new as well as experienced agents.

The SalesRadix system includes a predictive dialer and proprietary customer relations manager that helps connect agents to potential customers across the country.

Here’s how it works.

Every time the agent logs on to the system, the predictive dialer calls several leads at the same time. Once a prospect answers the phone, he or she is instantly connected to the agent.

At the same time, answering machines are handled by SalesRadix, leaving a prerecorded message. In addition, while the agent is calling prospects and closing sales, the mass emailing system is automatically sending out messages to potential clients.

According to Ideal Concepts, this lead generation system has proven to provide some of the highest quality leads in the industry.

Agents receive on average twenty five leads on a daily basis, with the potential to get more daily leads. Those are live prospects who are interested in finding insurance. The leads are generated in real time, which means that agents can get in touch with potential clients as soon as they express their interest in buying insurance products.

Besides, instead of having to build a book of business from scratch, Ideal Concepts agents can share the company’s book of business. They have the possibility to choose among tens of thousands of current clients and contact them to offer new or additional coverage.

Another product that Ideal Concepts agents have at their disposal is iWebQuotes. This is an online consumer service that connects people looking for health or life insurance with qualified agents in their area who will help review their insurance options.

The selected insurance agent processes the customers’ request for information and contacts them by email or over the phone with a quote and plan details.

How Getting Paid Works

Ideal Concepts doesn’t give details on commission rates. However, according to the company’s website, they have some of the most competitive commission rates in the business and uncapped commission potential with top agents earning over $200K annually.

The agency also offers the Commissions Advance program which ensures a predictable and consistent income. Many of the Ideal Concept carriers offer a 6 to 9 month advance, which provides the income new agents need in order to establish and develop their business.

In addition to the advanced technology, Ideal Concept agents are given free access to live training and webinars by highly successful agents with proven record sales, as well full back office support to help them grow their business.

Is It A Scam, MLM, Pyramid Scheme?

Ideal Concepts is not a scam. On the contrary, it is an award-winning, reputable company with high financial ratings. The agency holds a superior A+ rating from BBB.

In 2020, Ideal Concepts made the Fastest Growing Companies list. It is currently recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies and was the Morning Call Lehigh Valley Top Workplaces three years in a row. In 2017, the agency received a Pennsylvania Governor’s Achievement Award for excellence in hiring and economic development.

The company prides itself on its inclusive, team-centered, and rewarding culture. All employees, whether they work in administration, sales, or technology, are compensated for outstanding efforts and encouraged to advance in their careers.

Finally, Ideal Concepts is not a multi level marketing (MLM) organization or pyramid scheme. This means that you are not expected to recruit other agents and will be earning commissions directly from your sales.

My Thoughts

Now that you’ve learned more about Ideal Concepts, I would like to offer my perspective as an independent agency owner who has been in business for almost a decade and has worked with thousands of agents.

Understanding How Commissions Work

As a new insurance agent, it is crucial that you understand how commission rates work in the insurance industry. This will allow you to get paid the highest commission possible.

First of all, you should keep in mind that commission percentages vary significantly from one agency to another and depend on what carriers you work with and what product lines you sell. That’s why it’s not easy to say what exactly you should be earning.

It is important that the commission level of the agency you’re interested in is not much lower than that of the competition. And if it is, you should check whether there are any benefits that come with these lower commission levels that you can’t get elsewhere.

Furthermore, you should find an organization that values training and supports new agents, just like we’ve seen Ideal Concept does. When an agency focuses on agent development, you are more likely to get paid fairly.

That is exactly how I run my final expense agency, Duford Insurance Group, too. Because I work directly with all my agents, I can provide them with all the necessary support when it comes to selling insurance and offer them higher commissions.

Conclusion
