Is It A Scam, MLM, Pyramid Scheme?
Some insurance companies operate as multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes, where agents are expected to recruit other agents and make a profit through sales of new recruits instead of selling products.
You may be wondering whether Smart Choice Agency is one of these organizations and whether it is a scam or a legitimate company. The answer is, this is a trustworthy agency with almost three decades of presence in the insurance industry and excellent employee reviews. When you’re appointed with Smart Choice, you will be selling products from top-rated insurance carriers of your choice, and will not be asked to recruit.
Now that you know a little more about Smart Choice Agency and how selling with this company works, I’d like to offer you my perspective as a national insurance agency owner since 2013.
Here is one of the key points to consider before you start working with Smart Choice Agency, or any other insurance company.
Mastering One Product Strategy
I believe the best strategy when considering a career in selling insurance is to focus on mastering one single product. Becoming an expert in your niche will allow you to make more sales. Later on, you will be able to gradually incorporate more products into your portfolio.
If you try to learn about multiple products, where each one has different underwriting requirements and technical know-how, you will quickly feel overwhelmed. You risk losing interest in business and quitting altogether.
That’s why I highly recommend you to make sure that the organization you choose to work with focuses on specialization rather than generalization.
In my own agency, new agents have great success with a focused, specialized approach to selling insurance versus trying to become experts in every single product.
