About Senior Services of North America

Senior Services of North America is a leader in the Medicare health insurance marketplace. It is one of the fastest-growing field marketing organizations for senior insurance products in the United States.

The company was founded in 2008 by the renowned mentor Joseph Battaglia and his partner Joseph N. Battaglia. SSNA is headquartered in Melville, New York.

In August 2020, Senior Services of North America was selected as the field marketing organization for Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan (CDPHP) Medicare Advantage Plans. SSNA assisted CDPHP in launching its new Medicare Advantage products for the 2021 annual enrollment period.

Products Sold And Market Focus

Senior Services of North America serves mainly people over 65 who are near or at retirement. It helps seniors find the most comprehensive, suitable, and affordable insurance plans for their specific needs. In addition, SSNA assists individuals and families in ensuring they have the proper retirement plan in place.

SSNA agents help customers understand all the different options and benefits available in their local area. Whether they are on Medicare or newly eligible for Medicare, one of the most important decisions SSNA clients need to make is whether to choose Medicare (Parts A and B), Medicare Advantage plan (Part C), Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D), or another Medicare Supplemental insurance plan.

SSNA also offers a Transitional Individual Medicare Services Program that assists retiring employees in transitioning from group health insurance to Medicare health insurance options.

Senior Services of North America represents all of the major national insurance carriers who provide a wide range of insurance products, including:

    • Medicare Supplements

    • Individual health insurance

    • Long term care insurance

    • Individual annuities

    • Individual life insurance, and

    • Individual dental insurance.

How Leads Work

The Senior Services of North America website mentions that the company has proven lead programs including social media, internet, direct mail, print ads, TV campaigns, and more. They don’t provide any details about generating leads.

How Getting Paid Works

SSNA doesn’t offer information on how getting paid works and gives no details on commissions.

However, the company provides new and experienced agents with mentoring, training, strategy sessions, and marketing programs to help them grow their business and maximize sales.

In addition, the SSNA iEnroll Medicare technology platform allows agents to streamline their production. The platform contains the following features:

    • Check Dr, Hosp, RX for all plans on the same platform

    • Send an E-Scope via email or text message

    • Side by side comparison of plans

    • Email plan comparison, and

    • Enroll prospects via email or text messages in one platform.

Is It A Scam, MLM, Pyramid Scheme?

Senior Services of North America is not a scam. The company is considered to be a national leader in the Medicare health insurance marketplace. It allows agents to work with some of the best insurance companies in the industry that have the highest financial ratings. SSNA has excellent employee reviews.

If you are considering working with SSNA, you don’t need to worry about it being an MLM or pyramid scheme opportunity. You won’t be expected to recruit new agents, instead, you will be working directly with partner insurance carriers.

My Thoughts

In this article, you’ve seen how Senior Services of North America works. As a National Insurance Agency owner since 2013, I’d like to offer my perspective on a few key points you should consider before choosing to work with SSNA or any other insurance company.

Commission Rates

Commission percentages vary widely from agency to agency and the type of product you’re selling.

That’s what you should not accept the commission the organization offers without researching the rates of different carriers. If the offered rate is lower, check whether there are any benefits that come with this commission level that you won’t be able to get elsewhere.

Many insurance agencies operate as multi-level marketing organizations. Within their mass recruiting strategy, there will be other agents between you and the big earners at the top of the hierarchy. Because everyone needs to get paid, there’s less room for higher commission levels.

If you work for an MLM agency, your commission level is likely going to be below average.

I recommend finding an organization that values training and supports new agents, such as my agency, Duford Insurance Group. Working directly with all my agents allows me to offer them higher commission rates.
