Zywave was founded in 1995 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, by employees at a regional insurance brokerage, Frank F. Haack & Associates. The venture started as an internal project with the purpose of developing tools for the company’s own brokers.
Over the years, Zywave has become a tech industry leader offering software as a service (SaaS) technology solutions for insurance brokers and financial planning industries both in the US and abroad. It is the only insurtech provider that offers a complete package of front-office solutions for independent insurance agencies across all lines of business.
Zywave’s products are used by over 6,000 insurance and financial companies around the world, including all of the top 100 US insurance firms. The company received numerous awards, including the TrustRadius’s 2020 Tech Cares Award and several Top Workplaces Regional Awards.
Over the years, Zywave has supported a wide range of local and national nonprofits by volunteering in the community and hosting numerous fundraising events.
The company is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has offices in Carlsbad, California, and Winnipeg, Canada.
At the end of 2020, Zywave was acquired by a private-equity firm Clearlake Capital.
Zywave’s customer base consists of more than 350,000 insurance brokers and financial planners across North America as well as 15,000 clients in more than 10 countries around the world.
Zywave is known for having the most expansive portfolio of cloud-based sales management, client resource portals, and analytics solutions on the market. Its insurance product categories include agency management systems, data analysis, compliance, risk management, and marketing communication tools, while its financial division produces planning tools primarily for wealth management.
Furthermore, Zywave offers technology platforms to help agencies develop and grow. It provides several educational resources and toolkits for insurance agents, in addition to webinars and self-study options.
