- An annual AHIP certification, which acts as proof that you have completed the required Medicare training courses. It takes 8 hours to complete and costs $170.
- A separate certification with each contracted carrier.
At the same time, selling Medicare Supplements requires no training and no certification.
Only a health insurance license is needed in order to sell Medicare Supplements in all states. The exception is North Carolina where a special Medicare Supplement license is also required.
A non-resident license can be easily obtained online in every state where you intend to sell insurance over the phone.
Unlike Medicare Advantage, there are no restrictions on a specific time frame for selling a Medicare Supplement plan.
Agents can sell the plans anywhere and at any time. While there are agents that sell Medicare Supplements face-to-face, Chris teaches agents to make sales by phone which allows them to lower the costs and reach even more customers.
