About The Else Agency

The Else Agency is a Symmetry Financial Group agency based in Chesapeake, Virginia.

It was founded in 2016 by Dana Else, a licensed Symmetry Financial Group agent.

Dana Else comes from a background in restaurant management, sales management, and non-profit fundraising. She became an agency owner after just one year of working for SFG, without having any prior insurance experience.

Symmetry Financial Group is a nationally recognized insurance marketing organization that partners with more than 30 top-rated insurance carriers like Mutual of Omaha, Foresters, and Transamerica.

Products Sold And Market Focus

Symmetry Financial Group offers the following insurance products:

    • Mortgage protection

    • Final expense insurance

    • Term life insurance

    • Universal life insurance

    • Disability insurance

    • Critical illness insurance

    • Retirement protection

    • SmartStart insurance

SFG’s target market comprises everyone from clients who have recently purchased a home to those who want to secure yet grow their retirement and anyone who needs life insurance.

The company focuses on these main areas:

    • Protect families

    • Protect against market losses

    • Protect against increasing taxes, and

    • Never outlive your retirement income.

How Leads Work

Symmetry Financial Group offers final expense leads and mortgage protection leads for new agents. The cost of the leads is determined by their “freshness,” that is, how long ago they were generated.

Leads are created through the Symmetry Financial marketing campaign, which means that there is no need for agents to do cold calling. Their in-house lead program and selling system allow agents to set around 12-15 appointments on a weekly basis and generate more than $5,000 in commissionable premiums per week.

How Getting Paid Works

If you work with the Else Agency, your income will be 100% commission based, as is case with most other insurance agencies.

New agents are offered comprehensive training and given access to a network of experienced mentors.

In addition, SFG is committed to serving the community as a sustainable and socially responsible company. Through various initiatives such as the Thrive wellness program, the women’s Connect group, and National Days of Impact, agents are able to give back to the organizations and causes that mean the most to them.

Is It A Scam, MLM, Pyramid Scheme?

The Else Agency is a legitimate agency of the Symmetry Financial Group, which has four years in a row ranked one of the fastest growing companies in the USA. Entrepreneur magazine featured Symmetry Financial Group on their Top Company Culture List in 2017 and 2018.

This is not a scam, pyramid scheme, or a multi-level marketing (MLM) opportunity. In other words, the Else Agency has no hierarchical structure that requires you to recruit other agents.

My Thoughts

In this article, you’ve learned a little more about how selling insurance with the Else Agency works.

Below, I would like to share my views on some aspects of selling insurance as an experienced insurance agency owner. You may find this information useful regardless of whether you intend to work with the Else Agency or another insurance company.

The Importance of Leads

When you start working with an insurance agency, one of the most important aspects to keep in mind is lead generation.

Here’s why.

In the insurance sales business, it is absolutely necessary to see as many people as possible if you want to increase your chances of success.

We have seen that Symmetry Financial Group provides an in-house lead program. However, many agencies don’t have any reliable lead systems that would help agents look for prospects. As a new agent, you are often left on your own to find leads instead of focusing on selling.

Ideally, you should be able to use a pre-existing, proven system to help you find prospects.

In my final expense agency—Duford Insurance Group—we focus on buying direct mail leads, Facebook leads, and television-generated leads. We have established marketing strategies that allow our agents to reach enough interested prospects who want to buy insurance.

That’s why I would highly recommend that you ask the representative you meet during your interview with an insurance agency whether they have a lead system that will help you pitch to prospects. If this is not the case, you should definitely look for another company to work with.

Conclusion

I hope this review on how a career selling insurance works with the Else Agency and Symmetry Financial Group was useful and provided you with enough details to make an informed decision.
